In the scope of the International Brownfield Exchange Dr. Seelemann was invited on several occasions to participate in the development of urban planning designs in various districts of NYC, in her capacity as a German expert on the subject. These procedures took place with the involvement of various authorities and representatives of the mayoral office in the metropolitan districts.The project to develop a garden town on the site of the former Rheingold Brewery in Bushwick was launched in 2000 and completed by 2005.Other subjects included, in 2003, the conversion of a naval prison in Brooklyn into a residential complex and the development of the derelict site along the elevated railway in Livonia Avenue.In 1999 we had already been involved in workshops in Buffalo, Niagara Falls and Toronto, Canada.
