Urban district concept for the Lutherviertel Chemnitz
The concept focuses on tackling the problems associated with the declining population figures within the urban district, defines the key projects for development and co-ordinates individual projects and public investments. Goals include the improvement of the urban planning situation and reducing housing vacancies in Chemnitz. The aim is to reinforce existing potential and support developments already underway in the district.Primary development areas comprise the green and open spaces in the vicinity of the housing, together with the greenery of the public spaces. Supplementary utilisation offers are being created anew, in particular for families with children and young people. In future, the housing stock is to be augmented with the renovation and construction of individual and family-oriented town houses. To the east of Clausstraße an industrial estate has been proposed, in a "green framework", with park.Short and medium term municipal investments are being co-ordinated and bundled in a countermeasure plan.
